Where Do Animals Hide in the Summer?

When summer comes to Texas, it’s expected that people will avoid the heat the state is notorious for. However, humans aren’t the only ones seeking relief from the heat in the summer season. Wild animals including skunks and raccoons are seeking shelter from the heat as well.

Homeowners may be tempted on a cooler summer day to open their windows, vents and garage doors, however, this also provides easy access for an animal looking for shade and shelter.

Wildlife will seek shelter in places that are dark and cool, like:

  • Basements
  • Underneath decks
  • Garages
  • Sheds
  • Pool houses
  • Attics
